Gigantic, vast, open spaces, and a nude jeep riding in the sand dunes in an open sky with a wild adventure waiting ahead - cue the picture perfect Namibian discovery. The exotic simplicity is the exact definition of the kind of inspiring energy we'd imagine when journeying through the African city. Needless to say, our visit exceeded our expectations.
Right in the middle of the remarkable Etosha National Park, the Epacha Game Lodge has impressive views of the desert from the comfort of your suites private balcony. Traveling to a new city always calls for pioneering new cuisines. After talking to a few locals, we decided to check out NICE restaurant & bar. We were welcomed with a menu made to fall in love with that featured local delicacies with an African influence. They're known for their delicious char-grilled tuna steak on a bed of couscous with chili sauce, grilled Oryx loin with poached pear and fresh Namibian oysters, to no surprise, they were all outstanding.
We heard The Fish River Canyon is the second deepest canyon in the world. With that being said, of course we had to see for ourselves. The experience when visiting was breathtaking, especially when catching the sunset overlooking the vast Tswalu reserve. For our relaxing low-key moment, star gazing at night in the lamp-lit enclosure was every bit worth the time.
Options for epic discoveries in Namibia are endless. A classic safari tour offers the chance to see a wild collection of exotic animals like the black-maned Kalahari lion, Kudu antelope and the water buffalo. We were blown away at the unique beauty of it all. Riding a horse out into the unexpected plateaus of the Savannah is also a unique way to experience the beauty of this territory. It's one of those moments that you'll remember for decades.
Take note of our necessary Namibia selects from Miansai: for him, we love the Klink bracelet in gold, Label cuff in Matte Brass, Ipsum Wrap in Matte Gold, and the Tobacco Portfolio. For her, there's no going wrong with the Offset cuff in gold, Offset earrings, Gold Fusion pendant necklace and the Quartet Ring in 14k gold with Pavé Diamonds.
The best time to go is after the rainy days in May or June when the wildlife returns to the region. Make sure to avoid going in November and December when it's extremely hot and very dry with unpredictable thunderstorms. We always love a good trip in the pristine conditions to enjoy it best.
"The up close perspective of Namibia is untouched and raw. With a population of under 2.5 million, you're likely to see more wildlife than humans- making it one of the few places like this that still exist," Saiger says.
