The Story
Michael Saiger New York bred and educated at The University of Miami, Michael Saiger is a self–taught designer having learned by combining his creativity and curiosity with a natural niche for finding collectibles and translating their influences into wearable accessories for men and women. Inspired by childhood memories of the beaches of New England and his mother’s antique shop, Michael’s handmade designs are preppy, rustic, classic and timeless, leaving those who wear them with a reminiscent sense of youth and ageless feel. MIANSAI is available at fine boutiques and department stores worldwide including Bergdorf Goodman's, Barney's Co-Op, Neiman Marcus, Colette, J. Crew, The Webster, Saturday's, Ron Herman, BASE, Park and Bond, HOLT RENFREW, LIBERTY, SELFRIDGES, OKI-NI, Mr. Porter, BEAMS PLUS, and UNITED ARROWS.
The Studio The MIANSAI studio is a reflection of the neighborhood and city that surrounds it. Years ago the space was home to a smokehouse that sat next to the historic Florida East Coast Railway, then known as the central hub of business distributed all throughout South Florida. As Miami grew, the smokehouse and railroad eventually became abandoned as businesses moved away from Downtown. Now, Midtown Miami has been transformed. It has been reborn as the 'Design District' boasting a robust art scene and a new sense of community. The revival continues as the original railway is rebuilt, bringing a new lifeline into the heart of the city. Much like its neighborhood, the MIANSAI studio embodies a sense of vintage Americana with a timeless vision, which is reflected in the brand's collections.
